Look Inside the Fortune Cookie Box
The carton has an open top, so the upper flaps angle outward around the two cookies. Follow the line down the center of each cookie to see the folded shape. Small rectangular slips extend beside them. Those details make this a complete food-container scene rather than another loose dumpling or round candy. Keep the carton panels separate when coloring so the cookies appear to sit inside it.
Golden Cookies and a Colorful Carton
Use pale biscuit yellow as a base and shade the lower edges with warm tan. Leave the fortune papers light. A red, teal, or lavender carton can provide a bright contrast to the cookies; a simple pattern on its broad front panel makes it personal. Add the pattern with a light pencil first so it does not overpower the original faces and folds.
Write a Friendly Fortune
Choose a short message such as a kind wish, an encouraging thought, or something fun to try tomorrow. Write it beside the box or on a separate paper strip. Children can trade messages after coloring and explain which cookie would deliver each one. For a pretend restaurant activity, add a menu label and imagine what other squishy snacks belong on the counter.
